How can I play?

Print off the application form, fill it in, sign it and send it to The Gloucestershire Lottery.

How much does it cost?

Each ticket costs £1 a week. Entries are paid monthly, quarterly, half yearly or annually. If you have 1 ticket, you pay £4.33 monthly, £13 a quarter, £26 half yearly or £52 annually.

I don't like standing orders, can I pay another way?

Yes, send us a cheque or postal order. We do ask for a minimum of £26 if paying by cheque. For further details contact The Gloucestershire Lottery on 01452 612 216.

I don't have a bank account, can I still play?

Yes, you can pay by postal order.

How many tickets can I have?

As many as you like! There is no limit; it's a £1 per ticket per week.

Can I choose my own numbers?

No, you are allocated the next number in line and you keep that number for as long as you choose to play.

What are the odds of me winning?

If there were 1000 people playing The Gloucestershire Lottery, the odds would be 1000/1.

How will I know if I've won?

The draw is announced every Wednesday at 5pm on our website www.gloucestershirelottery.co.uk and on our Facebook Page, Gloucestershire Lottery Group. A representative of The Gloucestershire Lottery will contact the winner by phone the same day.

Do I have to claim?

No, we will contact you if you win.

Do I have to have my photo in the paper?

We reserve the right to publicise winners but we will not force you to have your photo in the paper! We would hate that to prevent you from playing.

Who runs the lottery?

The lottery is run by the Directors of James Hopkins Trading, administered by Richard Pike.

Where does the money go?

All profits after allocation of prizes and expenses are divided two ways, 80% to the James Hopkins Trust and 20% is managed by The Gloucestershire Lottery to benefit other charities spread throughout Gloucestershire.

When is the draw announced?

The draw is announced every Wednesday at 5pm on our website www.gloucestershirelottery.co.uk and on our Facebook Page, Gloucestershire Lottery Group.

How is the draw done?

All lottery entries are put on a special computer database. Every week the computer initiates its random selection programme and picks that week's winner.

How quickly do I get the money should I win?

Immediately. A cheque is ready in the lottery office as soon as the draw is done.

Where is the lottery based?

The Gloucestershire Lottery, Kite's Corner, North Upton Lane, Gloucester, GL4 3TR.

I live outside Gloucestershire, can I still play?

Yes, if you have a British address. We only give to charities based in Gloucestershire, but you can play from anywhere in Great Britain.
